Agribusiness management expert with interest in designing strategies for capacity development, linking farmers to markets, farmer organizations and value chain development and the related institutional and policy arrangements, consumer research and property rights. Amos currently works as a Senior Agricultural Economist at the World Bank office in Accra, Ghana. Prior to joining the World Bank he was the leader for capacity development at the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa. He was a research leader in Markets and Institutions at the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF). Amos holds a Ph.D. in Agribusiness Marketing from Georg August University of Goettingen and a Master’s degree in Agricultural/Development Economics from the University of Copenhagen. Prior to joining ICRAF in 2010, Amos worked with the Food and Wine Business group (now Global Food Studies) at the University of Adelaide in Australia where he researched and taught courses including Wine and Food Marketing Principles, Business Management for Applied Sciences, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Over the years Amos has coached and supervised students at Ph.D., M.Sc. and B.Sc. levels. He has experience working in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and has authored/co-authored more than 60 scientific papers including more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in leading agribusiness management and marketing journals, participated and presented in international conferences ,worked with the private sector to develop business opportunities and trained many people from the NARS and the private sector on business development skills. His core skills include program management ,excellent research experience in Africa, Asia and the pacific, proven ability to manage and lead scientific and non scientific staff, strong decision making and problem solving skills.
