Dr. Jason Hickey is former Head and Senior Member of Technical Staff at Google Research in Accra, Ghana. His work focuses on identifying and implementing ways Google can use advanced machine learning methods to improve welfare in Africa, particularly around African languages, food security, weather and climate forecasting, pest and crop disease prevention, crisis response, and more. He holds the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology, the M.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Cornell University.
